It was part of the Icelandic Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2014, in cooperation with the Ministry of Welfare and the Centre for Gender Equality in Iceland, RIKK (Institute for Gender, Equality and Difference, University of Iceland), and the Equal Rights Committee at the University of Iceland. The conference included 35 themed sessions, with three to five paper presentations in each, covering a vast range of topics and debates across theory, policy, practice and empirical research. Here, Christian McMahon reflects on the conference via an interview with Raewyn Connell, Professor Emerita, University of Sydney, Australia, who was one of the conference keynotes. ER
